“You’ve been BOOED” ! The students from Mrs. Richir’s ninth grade honors Social Studies class helped deliver small treats to staff around the middle-high school Friday, thanks to a grant from the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation.
Friday the 6th graders were able to participate in “Math and Treating.” Students were able to visit eight different stops spread out on the first floor of the M/HS to solve a math problem and earn a fun treat. The kids had a great time!

It’s Halloween and unfortunately the weather is absolutely frightening... The weather forecast predicts rain all day, so we are not going to be able to hold the Elementary Halloween Parade outside as originally planned. Instead we will have parties in our classrooms and we will post pictures on the website for everyone to enjoy. Thanks for your understanding - it's disappointing that we can't have the parade - but the kids will still have a fun day!!!
Red Ribbon Week at SES - Drug Free Looks Like Me!
Students in SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) created some sidewalk art today, during Red Ribbon Week. This year's theme is "Drug Free Looks Like Me."
Students in Mr. Guziec's 4th grade each researched owls and discussed their importance to our local ecosystem. Reports were written, projects were made and we concluded by having each child dissect their own owl pellet.

Did you know that New York produces about 30 million bushels of apples annually? In fact, if the state of New York were a country, its yearly harvest would rank just outside the top 20 globally. To celebrate this bounty, every year FarmOn.org partners with local growers in New York’s apple belt for the Big Apple Crunch.
All set up for FDA Food Science and Ag science Professional development this week! A virtual lab done this week included the science of cooking a hamburger, mystery juice , bacteria growth and "Don't cross me" (about cross-contamination). Each lab will be tailored for use in Family and Consumer Science 6, 8, and Foods classes for the upcoming school year. Thank you, Mrs. Reynolds!

CVCS Drama Club students recently attended a performance of the “Sing-Along SOUND OF MUSIC” film at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. Before the show, audience members rehearsed cheering when Julie Andrews entered the scene, “booing” the bad guys, and practiced with their interactive prop bags which included cards, Edelweiss, and confetti for when The Captain and Maria fell in love. There was also a costume contest, cue cards and gestures for "Do Re Mi" and, of course, singing along with all the songs, with subtitles. The students had a wonderful time and are grateful to the BOCES Arts in Education fund for making it possible for them to attend.
Important transportation information for Thursday, October 28, 2021
As you know we are faced with a shortage of bus drivers and bus monitors. This shortage has resulted in a number of runs being late or otherwise off schedule.
First, bus 188 will be on a delay this morning. 188 will pick up Sinclairville elementary students an hour later than usual and middle high school students who ride bus 188 will be on a two hour delay this morning. Again, bus 188 and only bus 188 will be on a delayed schedule this morning - it will run one hour late for elementary students and two hours late for middle high school students.
Additionally, buses 188 and 184 will be delayed this afternoon as well. Students riding 188 and 184 home this afternoon will leave school at approximately 4:00 PM.
We apologize for these changes and the inconvenience this causes our families. As a result of this shortage of transportation staff we will be consolidating some of or runs to decrease the number of buses we need to run to get our students to school and home again on time each afternoon. These changes may result in slight changes to pick up and drop off times and it is our goal to make those changes operational on Monday, November 1st. We will make this information available to all of our families as soon as these runs can be consolidated and the subsequent time adjustments can be made.
We apologize for this inconvenience and we are working to make the necessary adjustments that will eliminate these unexpected changes as we move forward.
