Hello CV Families, Here is a link to the School Supply List found on our website. https://sites.google.com/cvcougars.org/guidance-counseling-office/school-supply-lists As always, we have certain supplies available here as well. We also understand that colors can be difficult to find, and that is just a suggestion in order to help with organization for the upcoming year. Enjoy the rest of summer, and we look forward to seeing you all in September!

The Class of 2022 and all of us at CVCS would like to thank Eric and Maria Spinler and the entire team at the Sinclairville Superette for their generosity. Each member of this year's graduating class received a gift card from the Superette - what a wonderful gesture! Thank you!!

Important Transportation Arrangements for Students Taking Regents Exams: All students who took a Regents-level course this year are required to take the exam for that class. Regents exams begin on Wednesday, June 15th and will conclude on June 23rd. Transportation is as follows: The Middle/High School is running the regular morning bus runs and the 6th grade still has regular school days and should get on the bus in the morning. Any student taking an AM Regents exam (which begin at 7:45 AM) can take their regular morning bus run to school. Please note that bus runs may be 5-10 minutes early because a smaller number of students are riding this time of year. A limited bus run will take place beginning at 10:15 to pick up students that have an afternoon Regents Exam. Afternoon exams will begin at 11:45. This bus run will pick up only at major points - Cassadaga Commons, Sinclairville Post Office, Stockton 4-Corners, Gerry 4-Corners and any major intersections of Route 60 and Route 380. Students who happened to live on Rt 60 or Rt 380 will be picked up in front of their house. There will be a return home bus run at 11AM for those who only had a morning exam. There will be a regular bus at the end of the school day to take home 6th graders and any students that have completed their afternoon exam. If you have questions about these arrangements please call the Transportation Department at 962-5185 to find the closest pick-up or drop-off point for your child.

On June 8th, 2022, the J. Arthur France Auditorium was alive with the sounds of Broadway, pop songs, and a special alumni guest performance by SUNY Fredonia Music Major Desiree Ziolkowski of Mozart’s Voi Che Sapete from Marriage of Figaro. Students applied with a proposal of their act at the beginning of May and rehearsed weekly for 4 weeks prior to the recital in order to participate in the 3rd annual “Pride of the Valley Showcase”. Tri-M students who did not perform in the program helped produce the concert by assisting their peers as stage crew, spot lights, and sound tech. A $2 donation was requested in order to make the concert a charity event, and proceeds will be donated to St. Susan’s in Jamestown. Tri-M is the youth service organization associated with the National Association for Music Education, which is a vibrant organization uniting and providing resources and advocacy for music education in public schools. It is nationally recognized as a group with high membership standards and encourages local control and creativity to reach out to school communities. It aims to recognize the outstanding music students in a school community, and the importance of music education in shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Tri-M strives to make an impact in the community through service projects, and motivates students to take on leadership roles within the chapter and develop key skills for future success. Pictured are advisor, Ms. Nicole Zenns, along with Tri-M Music Honor Society members, Akira Smith, Brooke Jasinski, Matthew Helwig, Gavin Blake, Grace Zahm, Haydn Myers, Angie Ryen, and Hannah Yonkers. On June 8th, four students were inducted into the CVCS chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society: Akira Smith, Hannah Yonkers, Haydn Myers, and Matthew Helwig. Five students were presented with 3 year certificates and Tri-M honor cords for their graduation: Brooke Jasinski, Gavin Blake, Kaylie Main, Grace Zahm, and Angie Ryen. Congrats to all!!

Unfortunately, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) did not renew the waivers previously put into place for schools (in 2019) that supported school food service programs during the COVID pandemic. These waivers were what allowed our school to distribute bulk packed meals weekly to families with children. As a result, there will not be bulk food distribution this summer from CVCS. However, we do plan to offer free breakfast and free lunch to students enrolled in summer programming at the MHS from July 11th - August 5th. If you have additional questions about our food service program, please contact Heidi Ottaway in our food service office.

We regret to announce that Principal Julie Ziobro will be leaving Sinclairville Elementary School. She recently submitted her letter of resignation and we thank Ms. Ziobro for her work and wish her the best in her future endeavors. Finding a new building principal is never easy. As we begin the search for our principal, we will reflect on what makes our elementary school special. We will work with members of our faculty, staff and community to select a candidate who will thrive in a small, rural district. We will focus on selecting a proven leader with a passion for creating an engaging school culture. Knowing how important stability is for our youngest learners, we will commit to finding an administrator with a long-term vision for the success of our students. Sinclairville Elementary is a wonderful place with great teachers and amazing students, and we plan to appoint a principal who will build on that tradition. Until we complete the search process, Mr. Dave Davison will step in as interim principal. Mr. Davison has decades of experience as a school leader and will be available to help with anything you need through the end of this school year.
