Mrs. Zappie and Mrs. Nelson's classes learned about how to sequence events when writing. They wrote the steps of how to decorate a "turkey cookie" and then enjoyed a treat!
Important Transportation Update: Due to bus driver illness and a COVID related quarantine, bus 188 (the cat bus for those in the elementary school) will not run tomorrow (11/23/21) in the morning or the afternoon. In an attempt to avoid this inconvenience moving forward we are reducing the number of buses we run each day and will eliminate two of our runs. We will share the details of this bus run consolidation tomorrow and will implement new runs on Monday, November 29. At that time we will no longer be running buses 188 and 184. Students riding those buses will be reassigned to other buses and we will share those details directly with the families involved.
REMINDER: There will be no school November 24-26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Key Club voted to make homemade cookies for all of the bus garage employees to thank them for all they do. Pictured are the final cookies with little turkey notes and the delivery to Mrs. VanHouten, Transportation Secretary.

This week second graders participated in a Turkey in Disguise Guess Who game. Each classroom was paired with another second grade from somewhere in New York State. We exchanged game boards with our turkey pictures on them and met via Zoom to ask questions and figure out which turkey was the secret turkey.
On Wednesday, November 17, the CV High School Quizbowl Team competed at JCC against Westfield. The team (with captain Nick Denslow, players Alex Kahle, Jon Zybert, and Paige Zybert) fought to an academic victory after a three-point difference the first and second round to win with 60 points over Westfield with 18. Congratulations to our academic team - well done Quizbowl! Their next match will be in February and they are currently undefeated.
In homerooms at the MHS, students and staff were asked to write down what they were thankful for on paper leaves. The seniors in Mrs. Richir’s class created a display of leaves in the cafeteria for everyone to see. The most written included: family, friends, mom and dad, school, sports, food, and my house. #CougarPride #CougarFamily (Photo credit: Mrs. Richir)

Miss Katie from the Audubon visited SES this week and taught Ms. Brautigam’s class about animal clothing. Thank you, Audubon Community Nature Center!
This is an important notice for families of students who ride buses 182 (Bear Bus) and 188 (Cat Bus).
All students (grade K-12) who ride bus 188 will depart the school at 4:00 PM this afternoon. Also, middle/high school students who ride bus 182 will leave the school at 3:00 PM today. All other bus runs will operate as regularly scheduled.
While we do not expect you to pick up your children, if you choose to pick them up, please call your school’s office so they know who will be riding the bus today.
We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Congratulations to the CVCS Volleyball All-Stars!

Honorable Mention - Madison Ring, Madison Sischo and Allison Wakelee
